First class back for 2013

This Tuesday we’re kicking off our first WCS dance class for the year with a special deal…

Introduce someone new to WCS and you’ll both get in for half price

And with all our upper-level dancers on a high after the recent Best of the Best event with Jordan and Tatiana in Sydney, there’s never been a better time to be at West Coast Swing!

Ben is coming up especially to teach both classes and dance with everyone so make the most of the opportunity and come along for an pumping night of dancing and socialising.

Our first Introduction to West Coast Swing class for 2013 will be on Tuesday 5th February. There couldn’t possibly be a better night to bring along a friend or loved one, and if you do you’ll BOTH get in for half price.

Time: 7pm – 9:45pm, every Tuesday from 5th February
Cost: $10 (adults), $8 (students), CASH ONLY

If you’re going, please make sure you have registered for the weekend, especially for the competition on Saturday, even if you’re just spectating. If you’re competing and have completed registeration, please ensure you have entered yourself in the competitions you intend to compete in.

Congratulations to Dave Kerby who won our prize draw for Raw Connection’s Swingtimate 2012 WCS Weekender on the Gold Coast with US WCS Champions, Kyle Redd and Sarah Vann Drake.

Dave has been a faithful supporter of our classes in Christchurch for ages so we’re very pleased that the pass has gone to him. All the best with the passport application Dave and we look forward to hearing all about it when you get back!

Our new Tuesday class timetable kicks of tomorrow as follows:

7.15pm   Freestye/Warm-up
7.30pm  Beginners
8.30pm  Freestyle
8.45pm  Improvers
9.15pm  Freestyle

Coinciding with our change in course length from four to six weeks, is a change in the Tuesday night schedule. The main change being that Improvers is now after Beginners again starting at 8.45pm.

New Swing South Tuesday Schedule (from Tuesday, 11 September)
7.15pm Freestye/Warm-up (but we’ll have the music on from 7 while we set up if you want more time to dance)
7.30pm Beginners
8.30pm Freestyle
8.45pm Improvers
9.15pm Freestyle

Please note that we have also had to increase our prices slightly due to the increased cost of our new venue. We hope you all understand that we are teaching WCS for the bare minimum we possibly can and are merely trying to cover our costs.

We’re moving to Salsa Latina!

Tuesday, 19th June

Our next Intro to WCS Course starting on Tuesday 19 June will mark the first night at our new venue, Salsa Lataina, on 12 Bath St on the south side of the Christchurch CBD. Click here for a map.

We’ll be in studio 3 every Tuesday from the 19th on. We’re currently reviewing our class times and would love your input on what class times would suit you best. Ben is back from Swingvitation and it’s time to party!

Get your dancing shoes on and head along to 101 Mackworth St this Saturday, 12 May, at 7.30pm for your fix of social dancing at Alicia’s Loft. BYO drinks and nibbles plus a donation for the kind use of the Loft.

Remember to make friends with those people going to Swingsation next weekend so you can get all the latest tips off them when they return!
